Kailey: When snack attacks happen, Noom helps you make healthier choices
Diabetes runs in Kailey’s family. So, she wanted to take action to prevent it. She also likes to take part in St. Jude LIFE studies to help researchers find ways to help childhood cancer survivors. Kailey talks more about the study:
“Noom is not a diet. It is more like psychological support. I have enjoyed using the color system. Green foods are foods low in calories and high in water content such as fruits and vegetables. When I’m feeling ‘snacky,’ the app has helped me stay away from chips and helps me keep my portion sizes down. It has helped me do better when I go to the grocery store. One lesson taught me to expose myself to my weaknesses, so I can learn to say no to certain foods. So, I practiced walking down the snack aisle at the grocery store and not buying any junk food. Now I do not really have cravings for that stuff anymore. Diabetes runs in my family. That’s one of the main reasons I joined the study. Research helps patients and survivors in the future.”
